Meaning of the Logo
The department’s logo symbolises the role of our organisation, who we are as members of the organisation and what our values and aspirations are.
The wordings “Department of Industrial Development & Research” in white letterings at the bottom set against a red background indicate that we are a department with a mission to promoting industrialisation in Sabah.
The four green bars on the left denote the various categories of industries we promote, including micro, small and medium scale, large-scale and high-impact industries. Arranged in the form of steps, the bars also tell of the department’s determination to achieving greater heights in its effort in promoting industrialisation in the state.
The letterings “DiDR” in blue, while also being the acronym for “The Department of Industrial Development & Research”, indicate the values of the department, viz., Dedication, Integrity, Determination, and Resourcefulness.
The letter “i” also denotes the department’s human capital, the main asset of the organisation. This striped “i” symbolises a multi-skilled staff, capable of multi-tasking and ready to employ new methodologies and technologies to improve its efficiency and productivity.
In so far as the colours are concerned,
- Green denotes eco-friendliness, whereby due consideration is given to safeguarding the environment in the department’s effort to promote industrialisation;
- Blue denotes professionalism in carrying its role and functions;
- White denotes integrity;
- Red denotes strong desire to excel.
